Robert Graney

Mr. Graney is Eagle Rock Alliance's Practice Director for the Technology Solutions Group. He has over 25 years of diversified Information Technology (IT) experience which includes extensive practice in multiple technology areas. Mr. Graney has a proven track record in designing, developing and implementing successful business resiliency programs as well as extensive experience in data center operations, DR planning and project management. He utilizes his combination of technical and communication skills to quickly absorb the details of a client's technical and business environment and correlate that to project requirements.

Since joining Eagle Rock in 2001, Mr. Graney has assisted clients in the financial, technology, pharmaceutical, services and manufacturing industries with the design, implementation and testing of Disaster Recovery (DR) sites. He has conducted third party technical risk assessments , including Single Points of Failure (SPOF) analyses , DR Capability/Gap Analyses and evaluations of data replication/backup environments. Mr. Graney is comfortable in both large multi-data center and smaller IT environments and has extensive knowledge of DR testing methodologies and recovery vendor operations. Mr. Graney held leadership roles in the development of Eagle Rock's Info*RM database and the ERA*360 BC/DR program assessment tool . In his role, Bob is responsible for tracking the pulse of technical trends impacting the BC/DR industry.

Mr. Graney's knowledge of IT operations and backup and recovery strategies encompasses data center and workarea environments, as well as networking (WAN, LAN, Voice). His extensive experience includes Open Systems (HP, Sun, Dell, IBM), Mainframe, AS/400, and various database platforms. He has conducted various technical reviews providing strategic analyses on recovery strategies for applications, databases servers, storage and data. Mr. Graney's breadth of expertise also includes knowledge of advanced strategies including Storage Attached Networks (SAN), redundant network design, data replication techniques and Network Attached Storage (NAS). As TSG's Practice Director, a recent focus has been on the data center co-location market where his intimate knowledge of data center environmental systems provides a solid base from which Eagle Rock conducts data center assessments utilizing The Uptime Institute's rating system.

Prior to joining Eagle Rock, Mr. Graney served 10 years at an international bank, where he held several technology management posts. Mr. Graney directed a team of 12 supporting mission critical applications for trading and financial analysis and built out two DR sites. Prior to that, he led a team which designed and implemented a global system rollout to 50 locations and 12,000 seats out of the home office in Duesseldorf , Germany . He also spent 5 years as a product manager with software startup providing clients with pre/post sales support, software upgrades, training and documentation for a vertical market package. He began his IT career in 1986 as a Systems Engineer.

Mr. Graney possesses broad industry, business and in-depth technical knowledge and strong communications skills. His expertise in vendor and client environments adds insight and value to project planning and delivery, and further enhances Eagle Rock Alliance's ability to develop comprehensive recovery programs for our clients.

Mr. Graney earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College and his Masters in Business Administration from Monmouth University .
